Dimensions Problem Solving

๐Ÿ“š What You'll Learn

  • Finding unknown dimensions when area is given
  • Using division to solve for missing sides
  • Working backwards from perimeter to dimensions
  • Problem-solving strategies for complex shapes

In this video, we're going to learn how to find unknown dimensions!

Sometimes you know the area of a rectangle but not all the sides. If a rectangle has an area of 24 square units and one side is 6 units, what's the other side?

We can use division to find out: 24 รท 6 = 4. So the missing side is 4 units!

This works because area = length ร— width. If we know the area and one dimension, we can divide to find the other.

Now you're ready to solve dimension problems on your own!
